County Council Meeting July 10, 2001

1. Treasurer's report:  Mickie Adams submitted the treasurer's report.  The balance is $5484.39.  The net income from the Nader fundraiser is $4837.93.

2. The council approves $343.00 to reimburse costs of the 7 attendees to the State Plenary.

3. The council approves $684.00 to pay dues to the Green Party of California.

4. The Black Mountain Greens:  A new local is forming in the North County and is requesting formal recognition by the Green Party of San Diego County.  The council does not have concerns over recognizing the Black Mountain Greens at the next general membership meeting contingent on a valid membership petition.

Ric Newberry expresses an ongoing concern over the lack of a specific geographic region in the Bylaws of this local.  In the Black Mountain Greens Bylaws, various community names and the term "North County Inland" are used, but the region is not concisely or specifically stated.

5. There is lengthy discussion over the focus of the Green Party of San Diego.  There is consensus that the Party needs a focused plan and perhaps clearer goals.  This discussion will be continued next month and online.
