UPCOMING COUNCIL ELECTIONS

County Council elections will be held during the November General Membership meeting.  Candidates are asked to submit a bio and/or campaign essay (less than 200 words) to the co-chairs by the October County Council meeting.

CAMPAIGN 2000 PROPOSALS

Two proposals were submitted.  One by Ric Newbery (available at website library) and one by Robert Nanninga (electronic copy not submitted).

Newbery proposal was adopted by vote (6 aye, Nanninga opposed)

Nanninga proposal was not voted on.

COUNCIL CO-CHAIR ELECTION

Gary Waayers resigned from the co-chair duties because of professional and personal responsibilities.

Ben Shultz was nominated by Linda Martin.  Ben declined the nomination and nominated Ric Newbery instead.  Ric accepted the nomination.  No concerns expressed.  Ric Newbery is now co-chair of the County Council (along with current co-chair, Linda Martin).
